The deliverable E 2.1.1 presents the results of the co-creation process carried out under Activity A2.1 of the ENDORSE project, aimed at refining the design of pilot actions for phosphorus salt recovery from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and their subsequent agricultural application. The process was structured around two consultation rounds conducted across the SUDOE area, involving agronomic stakeholders, WWTP managers, fertilizer producers, and other actors from the recovered phosphorus value chain.
The consultations identified two main validation pathways: one based on liquid, soluble, or dispersible products compatible with fertigation systems, and another based on solid, granulated, or pelletized products intended for direct soil application. Stakeholders highlighted several critical aspects, including phosphorus bioavailability, compatibility with application systems, appropriate soil and crop selection, product safety, contaminant control, economic feasibility, and regulatory acceptance.
The deliverable concludes with a set of recommendations for designing robust, comparable, and relevant pilot actions that support the future agricultural valorization of recovered phosphorus salts.
