Santander hosts Interreg SUDOE meeting: a step forward for the RePo-SUDOE project

On 16 and 17 April, the city of Santander was the setting for an important meeting organised by the technical team of the European Interreg SUDOE programme. The Cantabrian capital brought together various key actors of the projects funded by this programme, with the aim of signing the agreements that will boost the development of innovative initiatives in Southwest Europe. Among those attending the event was part of the delegation of the RePo-SUDOE project, made up of representatives of the Instituto Politécnico de Guarda (IPG), the University of A Coruña (UDC) and the Cluster Saúde de Galicia, CSG.

The IPG, as coordinator and main beneficiary of the RePo-SUDOE project, had the responsibility of collecting the signed agreement, which marks a crucial milestone in the implementation of the project. The meeting not only allowed the formalisation of these agreements, but also provided a valuable opportunity for participants to share experiences, learn from the organisers and get to know in detail the initiatives that are being developed under the umbrella of the Interreg SUDOE programme.

A space for dissemination and collaboration

The conference held in Santander was a meeting point for the dissemination of projects and collaboration between the different actors involved in the Interreg SUDOE programme. The representatives of the RePo-SUDOE project took this opportunity to present the progress and objectives of their initiative, which seeks to position the SUDOE area as a benchmark of excellence in the area of drug repurposing. Exchanges of this kind are essential to strengthen synergies between projects and enhance the impact of the programme in the participating regions.

During the event, Luis Ángel Agüeros Sánchez, Minister of Economy, Finance and Public Funds of the Government of Cantabria, was in charge of handing over the SUDOE agreements to the participants. His presence underlined the importance of this type of initiative for regional development and transnational cooperation, highlighting the commitment of public institutions to innovation and progress in Southwest Europe.
