The municipality of Caldès de Montbui received the European delegation of the ThermEcoWat project, from 22 to 24 October 2024 on the occasion of the 2nd transnational workshop for the presentation of the first results and the working methodology of the WG2 dedicated to the estimation of the current impacts and future economic implications of adaptation to climate change.
Two days were organised alternating conferences, group work sessions and field visits to discover the spa town of Caldès de Montbui, installed on hot springs gushing out at the highest temperature in Europe (74°) and with the best preserved Roman baths on the peninsula.

Day 1
Introduction and official welcome by the municipal team of Caldès de Montbui

– Star debate: Round tables on natural, legal and economic provisions, constraints and risks in the face of climate change.
– Presentation of the results of the analysis of the humanities and social sciences for the member cities and territories by Sylvia Becerra, researcher at the CNRS in Toulouse (FR)
– Introduction to the thermal ecosystem in Spain and Caldes de Montbui by Isidre Pineda, Mayor of Caldes de Montbui (ES)
– Visits to the Roman thermal site, fountains, washhouse, thermal garden… with the Thermalia Museum
Day 2
–Geothermal energy. An overview and use cases by Georgina Arnó, Catalan Cartographic and Geological Institute (ES)
