Pilot Implementation: Co-defining Cultural Programming Through Nodes (Territorial Revalorization Itineraries)
This pilot’s implementation is a key project deliverable, as it’s one of four concrete activities where the participatory methodology for co-defining cultural programming will be tested through local nodes.
Specifically, territorial revalorization itineraries involve implementing diverse actions along old historical paths or creating new routes through the territory. These actions will highlight the cultural, natural heritage, or anthropological value of these paths. The ultimate goal is to promote routes that encourage tourism and the exploration of lesser-known territories, operating from a non-extractive, sustainability-committed perspective.
From this perspective, special attention will be given to developing participatory processes that consider these fundamental aspects:
Community participation with shared decision-making, focused on the community’s ownership of resources.
Revalorization of intangible heritage, placing the community at the heart of culture.
Promotion of local entrepreneurship and economy, with a focus on counteracting seasonal fluctuations.
Resource conservation, aiming for minimal environmental impact and territorial restoration.
Attention to equity, inclusion, and urban-rural rebalancing.
Considering these aspects, the co-design of these itineraries with relevant stakeholders and local communities could include:
Identification of cultural or natural heritage resources to be highlighted.
Historical and anthropological documentation of itineraries or heritage resources.
Actions related to the conservation, consolidation, accessibility, and signage of the itineraries.
Training for local guides, mediation with communities, and the design of community management models.
Economic revitalization actions centered around the itineraries.
Dissemination and tourism promotion actions.
