Phase 1: Emergency Action Plan (WG1)
We’ll develop Phase 1 of the common action strategy for the recovery of GIF-affected areas. This phase will detail the urgent post-fire action plan, which includes emergency measures for soil stabilization and mitigating erosion caused by intense storms after the fire. This urgent action plan will be consensual among the forest agents involved from the three SUDOE areas. A key innovation of the proposed common strategy is that the design of urgent action plans will be supported by a computational platform for estimating soil erosion under various stabilization treatments.
Phase 2: Medium-Term Recovery Plan (WG2)
We’ll develop Phase 2 of the common action strategy for the hydrological-forest recovery of GIF-affected areas. This phase will specify the medium-term monitoring, correction, and evaluation plan for recovery, agreed upon by participating agents from the three SUDOE countries. The main novelty of the proposed common strategy will be the creation of a digital model to support the design of medium-term action plans.
