Last Tuesday, July 8th, the Beira Baixa Business Association (AEBB) and the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute (IPCB) were in São Miguel de Acha (Castelo Branco) to host a presentation session for the European project REVITAL: Socioeconomic Revitalization of Low-Density Population Areas through Clinical Telecare.
REVITAL is a joint initiative that seeks to revitalize rural areas by combining innovation and local development. To this end, it proposes the creation of advanced healthcare and physical and neurological rehabilitation services, especially for the elderly and dependent population, using innovative telecare and telerehabilitation technologies to provide these services remotely and efficiently.
The parish of São Miguel de Acha is one of the locations where one of Revital’s pilot initiatives will be carried out, thus mobilizing the local community to participate in this session. The REVITAL presentation was led by the ESALD team – Dr. Lopes Dias School of Health of Castelo Branco and Professor Vitor Pinheira, as well as the director of ESALD, Rute Crisóstomo. Also present at the session was Cristina Geraldes, president of the São Miguel de Acha Parish Council.
