University of Lleida presents NEWPOWER project advances at Fira Agrobiotech 2025

On November 25th, 2025, the University of Lleida (UdL) will take part in the Agrobiotech Innovation Forum 2025, within the framework of the Fira Agrobiotech UdL, with the roundtable titled “Technology transfer to companies in the field of Bioeconomy from the UdL”.

The session, taking place from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Hall 4 – South Room of Fira de Lleida, will bring together researchers and representatives from the agri-food sector to discuss recent scientific and technological advances in bioeconomy and their practical application in industry.

The roundtable will feature Robert Soliva Fortuny, Anna Bacardit, and Anna Canela, researchers from UdL, who will present the university’s main projects, including the European project NEWPOWER, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe Programme through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

During the session, the speakers will highlight the progress of the NEWPOWER project, focused on the valorisation of agricultural and forest residues through innovative biorefinery technologies, and discuss strategies for technology transfer and collaboration with the business sector to foster a more circular, sustainable, and competitive agri-food system.

This activity is part of the communication and knowledge transfer actions of the NEWPOWER project, which aims to promote innovation and sustainability within the SUDOE region’s agri-food system.
