On 3 December 2025, CETIM Technological Centre will host at its facilities (Parque Empresarial de Alvedro, Culleredo – A Coruña) the seminar “From Forest to Packaging: Agroforestry Biomass for Sustainable Packaging”, a technical meeting organised within the framework of the European project NEWPOWER (Interreg Sudoe).
The event will bring together professionals from the agroforestry, biotechnology and sustainable packaging sectors to present progress in residual biomass valorisation, the development of scalable multiproduct biorefineries and new industrial opportunities for renewable packaging solutions. In addition, CETIM will present the NEWPOWER project and delve into the research currently underway to achieve one of its core objectives: producing advanced biomaterials from agricultural and forestry residues, with potential applications in the food, pharmaceutical, biotechnological and farming sectors.
The seminar will provide a forum for dialogue and knowledge exchange among technology centres, companies and researchers involved in the transition towards more circular production models.
