On 26 February 2024, the kick-off meeting of the AgroTour SUDOE project was held in Coulounieix-Chamiers, France, marking the beginning of this transnational initiative aimed at promoting sustainable agritourism in rural areas of Southwestern Europe.
During the meeting, the project partners reviewed the work plan and the main responsibilities of each participating organisation, discussing the first key actions to be implemented in order to achieve the project’s objectives. Financial and management aspects were also addressed, as they are essential to ensuring the successful implementation of AgroTour SUDOE.
The day included a technical visit to a winery in the Bergerac region, offering participants the opportunity to learn first-hand about local agritourism initiatives and their impact on the economic and social development of rural areas.
AgroTour SUDOE aims to create an agritourism model that revitalises rural economies, fosters sustainability, and promotes the exchange of knowledge among the participating regions. Collaboration among partners is fundamental to ensuring the success of the pilot experiences that will be developed throughout the project.
