The pilot experience “Burgos, your province in bloom” is designed as an integrated sustainable agrotourism initiative aimed at enhancing the natural flowerings of the province of Burgos as a tourism, educational and territorial resource. The pilot focuses on the design and implementation of thematic routes linked to different flowering periods throughout the year, highlighting the landscape diversity and biodiversity of the territory across the seasons.
The initiative combines nature observation with environmental interpretation, the promotion of rural heritage and the integration of complementary tourism resources, such as local gastronomy, agri-food products and other cultural elements of the rural environment. In this way, the pilot seeks to offer authentic, accessible tourism experiences adapted to different visitor profiles, including families, the general public and educational groups.
In addition, the experience includes the development of a field notebook or credential, in physical and/or digital format, to accompany visitors along the routes, support learning about plant species and collect information on the experience. The pilot is based on an experimental and participatory validation methodology, involving public and private stakeholders from the territory, in order to assess the viability of the model, measure its impact and optimise the proposal for potential replication in other territories of the Sudoe area.
