RESILIENT VINES Living Labs Network

Summary

Description

Within WG1, a network of six pilot demonstration estates (Living Labs) will be established, where regenerative viticulture practices adapted to each of the regions with representative climates (western maritime, continental and Mediterranean) of the SUDOE will be implemented, alongside innovative solutions and technologies, in order to maximise the project’s impact across the entire SUDOE territory. This network also acts as a demonstration platform for new technologies and tools developed by technology companies from the various participating clusters (INNO’VIN and ADVID), as well as a platform for demonstrating best available practices resulting from the work of research centres and universities. The trials will be harmonised to enable a comparison of the results of the processes of adapting practices to the various soil and climate conditions. This represents an unprecedented approach within a comparable environment. The six Living Labs will serve as tools for systematically transferring the project’s results to the various target audiences (the wine and ancillary sectors, R&D centres, designations of origin, public authorities and civil society) with the aim of promoting the implementation of the principles of agroecology and regenerative viticulture and establishing a benchmark demonstration network in the SUDOE region that will maintain its activity in the long term and expand its scope of action and regional implementation to other wine-growing territories, both within the SUDOE region and in other leading European wine-growing regions. All the project’s beneficiary partners, and some of the associated partners, will participate in the development of the pilot actions, including the wineries VINS NADAL, MAISON MARTELL and CASA JOSÉ PEDRO, the technology company VITIVISTA, the designations of origin (DO Montsant, DO Binissalem and CVRTM) and other organisations such as CIVB and VBNA.
