The Spanish partners of the Agrobotics-DiTwins project held a national webinar to present the project’s objectives, its Living Labs and the opportunities it offers to companies and organisations interested in applying robotics and digital technologies in the agricultural sector.
The session, organised by Málaga TechPark, Universidad de Huelva, Universidad de Málaga, Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche and Universidad del País Vasco, brought together 28 participants, including representatives from public administration, SMEs, technology companies, rural development organisations, agricultural stakeholders, individual professionals and consortium members.
During the webinar, participants were introduced to the main objectives of Agrobotics-DiTwins, a European project co-funded by the Interreg Sudoe Programme, which aims to foster circularity and agri-robotics through the use of digital twins. The project seeks to support the adoption of innovative technological solutions that can help improve productivity, efficiency and sustainability in agricultural activities.
A key part of the session focused on the role of the project’s Living Labs, which will provide a collaborative framework for identifying real needs in the sector, defining practical use cases and assessing potential robotic and digital solutions before implementation. Through this approach, companies and organisations will be able to explore how digital twins can help test and validate solutions, reduce risks and support better investment decisions.
The webinar also presented examples of automated agricultural operations and potential applications of digital twins in the agri-food sector. Participants had the opportunity to learn how the project can provide technical support, training and guidance for future implementation and funding opportunities.
The event helped raise awareness of Agrobotics-DiTwins in Spain and opened the door to future collaboration with organisations interested in participating in the project’s Living Labs and pilot activities.
Over the coming months, the Spanish partners will continue working with stakeholders to identify specific needs, define use cases and promote the digital and sustainable transformation of the agricultural sector through robotics and digital twin technologies.
