The European BIO4RES project has released the official videos of its four pilot actions, an audiovisual series offering a first-hand look at the initiatives carried out in various regions of the SUDOE area to improve the prevention and management of forest fire risk through the utilisation of biomass.

The videos, filmed between 2025 and 2026 in Navarre, Catalonia, France and Portugal, capture experiences, fieldwork and testimonies from researchers, technicians, institutional representatives and local stakeholders involved in the project. Through these videos, BIO4RES aims to bring the innovative solutions promoted under this European initiative closer to the public and stakeholders in the forestry sector.

The main objective of BIO4RES is to improve fire risk prevention and management in the forests of the SUDOE region, consolidating the viability of prevention plans through the valorisation of harvested biomass and contributing to the development of more resilient forests, without compromising their ecosystem, economic and social services.

The video series explores the four pilot projects developed by the project partners. The first of these, focusing on biodiversity, presents a methodology for reducing the environmental impact of fire prevention plans, reconciling forest management with the conservation of habitats and ecosystems.

The second video focuses on innovation in forestry harvesting techniques to improve the resilience and resistance of forests to fire. This pilot project showcases technological solutions and new forestry harvesting methods aimed at increasing efficiency and promoting management tailored to each specific area.
