Projects co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme have the opportunity to enter the #EuropaSeSiente Annual European Funds Project Competition, an initiative that recognises the excellence and impact of projects supported by European funds in Spain.

What is the #EuropaSeSiente competition?

The #EuropaSeSiente competition is an initiative organised by the General Secretariat for European Funds (SGFE) of the Spanish Ministry of Finance. Its objective is to raise awareness and improve citizens’ understanding of the results and added value of European funding support by selecting, rewarding, and promoting flagship projects to the general public.

The winners in the six categories will be eligible for the competition’s two top awards: the Jury’s Golden Star and the Public’s Golden Star. The two winning projects will also receive a bespoke communication campaign funded by the SGFE.

Which Sudoe projects can participate?

The ERDF (including European territorial cooperation) is among the eligible funds for the competition, opening participation to only projects co-financed by Interreg Sudoe for the 2014-2020, as the project must be completed. All planned activities must have been carried out, the project must be fully operational, and the operation must have been certified or declared closed by the beneficiary or the Managing Authority.

Projects must be submitted under one of the six competition categories:

  • #EuropaSeSiente Competitive : industrial transformation, support for SMEs, research, digitalisation
  • #EuropaSeSiente Green : energy transition, climate change, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity
  • #EuropaSeSiente Connected : sustainable mobility, transport, intermodality
  • #EuropaSeSiente Social : employment, education, social inclusion, equality
  • #EuropaSeSiente Local : sustainable urban and rural development, local and regional strategies
  • #EuropaTeMueve: Strategic Autonomy : large-scale projects in technology, energy, health, and industry
