The partner entities of the European AgroSOL project met from June 3 to 5 in Mont-de-Marsan (Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France) to hold the project’s third consortium meeting, a working session aimed at reviewing progress made over the past months and coordinating upcoming actions to promote the development of agrivoltaics in the SUDOE area.
The meeting, organized by GLHD at the Agrolandes Développement facilities, brought together representatives from partner organizations in Spain, France, and Portugal, who are working jointly to promote the integration of agricultural production and renewable energy generation through agrivoltaic solutions adapted to the characteristics of each territory.
During the various working sessions, key issues were addressed, including the identification of potential areas for the deployment of agrivoltaic installations, the design and development of pilot projects, data collection and analysis, as well as the awareness-raising, communication, and results dissemination strategies planned within the project.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the technical visit to Pilot No. 3, where participants were able to see various agrivoltaic experiences on site and meet with local stakeholders in France who are promoting these types of initiatives. The visit made it possible to exchange knowledge and analyze the benefits and challenges of combining agricultural activity with renewable energy production.
The meeting also served to define the roadmap for the coming months, a particularly important phase for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the pilot experiences planned across the participating territories.
AgroSOL is co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme of the European Union and brings together entities from Spain, France, and Portugal with the aim of developing innovative models that promote the coexistence of agriculture and renewable energy, contributing to sustainable development and the resilience of rural areas in southwestern Europe.
