On 16 June, the I-ReWater project consortium held its fifth in-person meeting in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), with broad representation from the 16 beneficiary organisations. The meeting was hosted by the PROEPLA group from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.

In addition to reviewing the work carried out, the meeting provided an opportunity to make progress on the organisation of upcoming transfer and dissemination activities, including the project’s closing event, which will take place in Évora (Portugal) on 17 and 18 November, hosted by colleagues from INIAV, IP.

During the presentations, the first versions of the future I-ReWater Hub, the water resources viewer and the beta version of the Fertilisation Requirements Calculator, the Decision Support System (DSS), were presented. These two tools will help showcase and transfer the results and knowledge generated by the I-ReWater consortium to the reclaimed water value chain.

Upcoming activities
In the coming months, the partners will monitor the final fertigation campaign using reclaimed water across the 15 pilot actions and prepare national webinars with public authorities from Spain, Portugal and France to further develop the “Transnational Strategy for Reclaimed Water Use”.

The consortium meeting also provided an opportunity to finalise the organisation of the 2nd REUSE-EuroMed Conference, which was held over the following days, from 17 to 19 June, at the CENCA facilities in San Fernando de Henares.

Until December 2026, when the project comes to an end, the I-ReWater consortium has six intensive months ahead to continue making progress towards more efficient and sustainable water management in irrigated agriculture.
