The RESINSURF Project is progressing successfully in Pilot 2, aimed at developing and validating sustainable solutions to replace hexavalent chromium (Cr (VI)) in the treatment of lightweight alloys, a key material in sectors like aerospace.
In this stage, TITANIA is validating processes at pilot plant scale, while CIDETEC leads in parallel the development and testing of innovative alternatives. Some options include the use of corrosion inhibitors supplied by SMALLMATEK, which are being evaluated to ensure their effectiveness in industrial applications.
With the collaboration of the University of Cádiz and other consortium partners, new monitoring and control technologies are being integrated to optimize processes like anodizing, chemical conversion, and electrophoretic coating.
