Three reasons to strengthen transnational cooperation in Europe

Thirteen Interreg programmes have joined forces to highlight how transnational cooperation strengthens European territorial cohesion. This initiative not only reinforces the strategic role of our work but also fuels a broader campaign that brings our message to national and European stakeholders.

Developed with the support of Interact, the brochure is structured around three core messages, voicing the importance of transnational cooperation as a key pillar of Cohesion Policy:

  • Building solidarity beyond borders – Transnational cooperation brings regions and people together to address shared challenges, fostering mutual understanding and a sense of European belonging.
  • Achieving synergies for all territories – Transnational cooperation encourages regions and cities to pool resources, knowledge, and ideas, allowing them to co-develop solutions that have a broader impact across national borders.
  • Delivering change through green and digital transitions – By testing innovative solutions in real-life settings, transnational cooperation helps pave the way for sustainable development and supports regions in adapting to the twin green and digital transitions.

Together with project highlights, they are presented in this brochure flipbook.
