On Tuesday, 7 October, INRAE, one of the two I-ReWater partners in France, will participate in a consortium meeting for the TARGET project, together with the sister projects Rur’eaux and Sollagua, and will visit the Gruissan vineyard pilot site. The visit will allow TARGET partners to tour the pilot facilities, see first-hand how the proposed solutions are being implemented, and exchange ideas with the Grand Narbonne Water Service and irrigators.
The day will begin with a welcome from Amélie Bresson, TARGET project leader, and Laurence Burgaud, deputy director of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole. After the opening, the workshops will be divided into two sessions. The first will feature three round tables with TARGET project partners and the second, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., will include three other round tables on SUDOE projects, including one with Inrae, a partner of I-ReWater. The presentation will be given by Nicolas Saurin, who will present the work in progress on the socio-economic study.
The day will conclude with a visit to Narbonne-Plage, where participants will tour the municipal WWTP and Nicolas Lafont from the Grand Narbonne Water Service will explain the tertiary treatment for reclaimed water production. Nicolas Saurin will explain how this resource is being used in irrigated agriculture. There will also be a testimony from a winegrower.
One of the important tasks at I-ReWater is to improve general knowledge about reclaimed water by promoting the exchange of information between all stakeholders. In this sense, this conference will allow for the sharing of progress and reflections between sister projects.
