The I-ReWater project, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme, held a new awareness-raising event at Campus Terra in Lugo of the University of Santiago de Compostela, in the Humanities Cafeteria of the Complexo Docente. The activity brought the university community closer to the project’s main objectives, focused on the sustainable management of water resources in irrigated agriculture and on promoting reclaimed water as a strategic resource for the sector.

Outreach on the use of reclaimed water
During the session, the main characteristics of reclaimed water were presented, as well as its possible applications in agriculture, highlighting its potential to encourage a more efficient and sustainable use of water in a context marked by climate challenges and the need to optimise available resources.

Tasting of experimental beers made with hops from the pilot sites

As part of the event, attendees took part in a tasting of experimental beers produced by the ecological craft brewery Bubela Artesá. These beers were made with hops from two pilot actions of the project, located in Presedo and Cubillos del Sil, corresponding to the 2025 campaign.

Collaboration and youth participation
The Foundation thanks Iker Falcón Cazás for his collaboration in the co-organisation of this activity, carried out within the framework of the Interreg Volunteer Youth programme. Through initiatives such as this, I-ReWater continues to promote outreach and participation actions to bring innovation, sustainability and the responsible use of water closer to citizens.
