The Portuguese partnership of the AGROBOTICS-DITWINS project recently organised the webinar “AGROBOTICS-DITWINS – Technological Innovation in Agriculture”, aimed at presenting the project’s objectives, participation opportunities and upcoming activities to companies, farmers and stakeholders from the agri-food sector.
The session was promoted by the Portuguese partners of the project: NERA – Associação Empresarial da Região do Algarve, Universidade do Algarve, Data CoLAB and FI Group. Delivered in Portuguese, the webinar brought together 16 participants interested in learning more about how digital technologies can support the transformation of agriculture and contribute to more innovative, sustainable and competitive farming models.
Throughout the session, the partners presented the main lines of work of AGROBOTICS-DITWINS, with a particular focus on Agriculture 5.0, Living Labs, digital twins and funding opportunities. These topics are closely aligned with the project’s mission to foster the adoption of advanced technologies in the agri-food sector through practical experimentation, cross-border cooperation and the development of innovation ecosystems.
The webinar also served to explain the participation conditions for companies and farmers interested in joining the project activities. In this context, attendees received information on the application process, the role of the Living Labs and the support mechanisms available through the project.
As a next step, the submitted application forms will be analysed in order to select the participating companies and farmers. This will be followed by the launch of on-site field visits, which will allow the project partners to better understand the needs of the selected participants and identify opportunities for the application of digital twin technologies and agro-robotics solutions.
Through this initiative, the Portuguese partnership continues to contribute to the overall objective of AGROBOTICS-DITWINS: promoting the digital and sustainable transformation of agriculture in the Sudoe area.
