On June 9 and 10, 2026, the Cyan’EAU (Interreg Sudoe) project held its third in-person consortium meeting in Agen (France), organized by the partner Association Climatologique de la Moyenne Garonne (ACMG). The meeting brought together representatives from the 10 partner institutions, as well as the team in charge of coordination.

This meeting is part of the project’s monitoring activities and aimed to assess the progress of ongoing work and coordinate the next steps. During the sessions, partners presented advances in the scientific tasks, including the analysis of sediment records, the identification of triggering parameters and the study of anthropogenic impacts in the study areas.
In addition, progress was made in planning activities focused on the development and validation of innovative solutions for the prevention, early detection and sustainable, low-cost remediation of cyanobacterial blooms, which will be tested at the project’s pilot sites.

In this context, the programme also included a technical visit to Lake Clarens (Casteljaloux), one of Cyan’EAU’s pilot sites. This visit enabled partners to learn about the site’s characteristics, exchange with local stakeholders and better understand the challenges associated with the presence of cyanobacteria in this environment.
In addition to the technical and scientific aspects, discussions also addressed project management, coordination and communication, which are essential to ensure the proper implementation of activities and the achievement of project objectives.
The meeting helped strengthen cooperation among partners and advance the implementation of solutions aimed at improving knowledge, monitoring and risk management related to cyanobacterial blooms in inland waters across the Sudoe area.
