On 16 June, the I-ReWater consortium held its fifth in-person meeting in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid, Spain), with broad representation from the project’s 16 beneficiary organisations.
In addition to reviewing the work carried out to date, the meeting provided an opportunity to make progress on the organisation of upcoming transfer and dissemination activities, including the project’s final event, which will take place in Évora, Portugal, on 17–18 November, hosted by the Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária, IP (INIAV, IP).
The meeting also featured the presentation of the first versions of the future I-ReWater Hub, the water resources viewer and the beta version of the Fertilisation Requirements Calculator, the Decision Support System (DSS). These tools will help showcase and transfer the results and knowledge generated by the I-ReWater consortium to stakeholders across the reclaimed water value chain.
Final six months of the project
Regarding the activities planned for the coming months, the final experimental campaign across the 15 pilot actions will soon begin, while national webinars involving public authorities from Spain, Portugal and France will also be prepared to further develop the “Transnational Strategy for Reclaimed Water Use”.
The consortium meeting also provided an opportunity to finalise the organisation of the 2nd REUSE-EuroMed Conference, which was held over the following days, from 17 to 19 June, at the CENCA facilities in San Fernando de Henares.
Until the end of 2026, I-ReWater has six intensive months ahead to continue making progress towards more efficient and sustainable water management in irrigated agriculture.
