The fourth call for Interreg Sudoe projects, which closed on 30 October, introduces a new project format to the programme: structuring projects.
What is a structuring project?
Beyond cooperation between organisations around a specific solution, structuring projects aim to transform, in a lasting way, the manner in which Sudoe territories address a major common challenge. To this end, they rely on partnerships that bring together, in each country, national bodies, regional or local authorities, and operational stakeholders, as well as the capitalisation of proven solutions to deploy them on a larger scale.
This first call for structuring projects has focused on two priority challenges for the Sudoe area:
- fire prevention and management
- population ageing
7 applications in the running
Seven partnerships have responded to the call:
- 2 applications regarding fires
- 5 applications regarding ageing
Next steps
As with the 3rd call (capitalisation projects), the applications will be co-assessed in the coming weeks by the National Authorities and the Joint Secretariat.
The Monitoring Committee is scheduled to make a decision on the selection by mid-December, so that the projects can commence their activities from January 2027.
