On December 17th, 2026, the Conseil Régional de Nouvelle-Aquitaine in Bordeaux (France) will host the 3rd RePo-SUDOE Conference, an international event organised within the framework of the European RePo-SUDOE project to analyse the latest scientific and technological advances in cancer drug development and drug repurposing.

The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, biotechnology companies, start-ups, representatives of regulatory authorities and innovation ecosystem stakeholders with the aim of sharing knowledge, presenting new research lines and fostering collaboration among the different actors involved in the development of new therapeutic strategies.

Throughout the day, some of the main challenges in oncology research will be addressed. The programme will include sessions dedicated to computational and experimental biophysics applied to drug development, as well as the analysis of the scientific, technological and regulatory challenges associated with the development of cancer treatments. The conference will conclude with a round table on the opportunities of drug repurposing, regulatory barriers and European perspectives in this field.

In addition, the event will provide an opportunity to discover the latest advances in atomic-scale biophysics and computational modelling, present innovation models driven by start-ups and highlight drug repurposing as a strategy to accelerate the development of new therapies and optimise the resources allocated to biomedical research.

The 3rd RePo-SUDOE Conference is establishing itself as a meeting point to strengthen cooperation between research centres, universities, biotechnology companies and European initiatives, promoting knowledge transfer and the development of new collaborations in the field of translational oncology.
