Within the framework of the REMAIN project, the University of Clermont Auvergne, project partner, is organising a hackathon focused on the recycling of deformable industrial products, specifically footwear. The activity addresses key technical challenges such as visual perception, defect detection, robot control, bin-picking, and system integration.
The objective is to develop a robotic system capable of detecting, identifying, and sorting shoes based on their condition. Using a camera mounted on a UR3e robotic arm, the system will inspect footwear, apply AI-based methods to detect defects, and automatically sort the items into designated areas according to their status.
