On 25 September 2026, the transnational webinar “Smart Green Water: Irrigation Digitalisation in South-West Europe” will take place. This online, multilingual event (Spanish, French and Portuguese) will bring together institutional stakeholders, technical experts and representatives from the agricultural sector to promote more efficient and resilient water management in agriculture.
During the webinar, the Smart Green Water Strategy will be presented. Based on a shared assessment carried out across France, Spain and Portugal, the strategy aims to foster the digitalisation of irrigation through concrete lines of action, while supporting its integration into key policies such as RIS3 and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The programme will feature high-level policy interventions, a panel discussion with sector representatives on farmers’ needs and how these are reflected in the strategy, as well as presentations of practical tools including the SGW Platform, digital twins, drought contingency plans, methodologies for assessing technological solutions, and capacity-building activities.
