Cabeza del Buey will host the international seminar “Displaying Rock Art through New Technologies and Full Accessibility” from November 10-12, 2026. This training event is aimed at professionals working with rock art sites within the Council of Europe. According to the official brochure, the seminar seeks to “offer a range of theoretical content, as well as various best practices […] to the different stakeholders responsible for the delegated management of sites open to the public.”
Organized by the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Government of Extremadura and the Cabeza del Buey City Council, the seminar is part of the European Interreg SUDOE TupART project, which focuses on the conservation, management, and dissemination of prehistoric rock art in Spain, France, and Portugal. The program includes technical sessions, specialized workshops, and roundtables on accessibility, applied technologies, sustainable management, performance indicators, and emergency protocols at rock art sites. As the document states, the TupART project addresses “the challenge of promoting the cultural and economic revitalization of rural areas in the SUDOE region.”
The training program will offer 90 places, free tuition, and 70 scholarships covering accommodation and meals for participants from outside Extremadura. Registration is open until October 9th and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
