The Spanish city of Alicante hosted last 26th of June, the Social Economy Fair, organised by Genion as part of the ResilientES project. The event provided a forum for sharing best practice, presenting impactful initiatives and creating new opportunities for collaboration amongst the various stakeholders in the social economy ecosystem.
The audience consisted mainly of cooperatives, entrepreneurs and communities from innovation spaces (‘Third Places’) in the non-urban areas of the province of Alicante, alongside organisations from the social and solidarity economy. We would like to highlight the fact the presence of entrepreneurial communities from the province’s most significant ‘Third Places’, which reinforces the Fair’s connection with the project’s activities relating to the creation of Third Places.
During the event local speakers took the floor, selected as success stories of the social economy due to their unique profiles and track records. All of them presented their business models, lessons learnt and links to local development.
