The Soil&WineResidues project participated in NEWPOWER Match: Innovation, an international event held in Braga aimed at promoting new circular bioeconomy solutions and strengthening strategic partnerships between Galicia and Portugal.
On 9 April 2026, one of the partners of the Soil&WineResidues programme, the Institute of Agroecology and Food of the University of Vigo, took part in NEWPOWER Match: Innovation. The event was held at the University of Minho in the city of Braga, Portugal.
The event brought together organisations, researchers and companies linked to the valorisation of agroforestry residues and the development of innovative solutions in the field of circular bioeconomy. Through networking sessions and B2B matching activities, participants were able to exchange experiences, identify collaboration opportunities and learn about initiatives focused on transforming agroforestry by-products into sustainable and scalable resources.
Participation in this type of event helps strengthen connections between Galicia and Portugal in strategic areas such as innovation, sustainability and circular economy, while also fostering synergies between European projects with shared objectives.
In this context, Soil&WineResidues exchanged knowledge with other initiatives from the SUDOE area focused on waste valorisation, ecological transition and the efficient use of territorial resources.
The NEWPOWER Match project is also part of the Interreg SUDOE programme and works on developing innovative solutions to transform agroforestry resources into new value-added opportunities, promoting more sustainable and resilient models for rural areas.
