This pilot activity will be developed by UPVD for apricot cultivation. The common framework for experimentation, monitoring, and evaluation will also be defined within the CAP. UPVD will work at least on apricot blossom brown rot (Monilia). In this case, the use of a biocontrol product will be evaluated: a broad-spectrum fungicide formulated from an extract of sticky inula plants and applied to apricot blossom brown rot. Each LL will develop its own strategy adapted to the local context for this common pathosystem, with the aim of proposing shared and transferable solutions. Other pathosystems may be studied depending on the needs of each LL.
The protocols will also be developed jointly: experimental design, treatment, and evaluation. The results will be evaluated at the end of the first year in order to adapt the protocols for the second year if necessary. A demonstration day will be organized in each LL for each experimental season. These events may be open to different organizations depending on the objectives and stakeholders involved in each LL. The tested, evaluated, and demonstrated solutions will lead to the validation of BIPMS for apricot cultivation. They will be disseminated within the LLs and, more widely, among farmers, SMEs, and intermediary support organizations (cooperatives, technology centers, etc.) so that they can be applied by other stakeholders and territories within the SUDOE area.
