Pilot Testing: Improving Accessibility and Sustainability at Rock Art Destinations
We’ll be conducting pilot tests to address challenges in accessibility and sustainability at destinations managed by project partners. This pilot experience may undergo slight modifications based on the unique characteristics of each site.
The overall goal of this generic pilot is clear: to tackle accessibility and sustainability issues at these destinations. We anticipate two main scenarios:
First, we aim to enhance accessibility in collaboration with our partner, COCEMFE-España. This will involve developing an audioguide application to make destinations accessible for individuals with visual or hearing impairments, deaf-blind individuals, and other disabilities. We also plan to present a seminar on Universal Accessibility in Hasparren.
Second, we’ll design and test solutions for improving sustainable signage for visitor itineraries and for the organized and recyclable collection of waste. This includes creating the concept of “green itineraries” at rock art sites. Throughout, we will always uphold the principles of sustainable accessibility in unique geological areas featuring rock art, ensuring the conservation and care of these destinations and their archaeological treasures.
