WP2, within the framework of activity A.2.2 led by BP1, plans the experimental and demonstrative implementation of a pilot for the recovery of P salts from different waste streams: a) Urban (wastewater treatment plant), at AQUONA’s (B8) facilities;b) Agro-industrial, analyzing the feasibility of recovery from olive mill wastewater (alpechín), at BORGES’ facilities; and its application in different environments. Additionally, and to ensure the transferability of the results to other scenarios and regions, the activity includes theoretical studies with wastewater treatment plants of different sizes (SOMACyL and/or Águas do Norte) and with different agricultural waste streams especially common in the SUDOE area (slurry, KERBEST). In this way, ENDORSE ensures that the realizations will be reproducible and applicable beyond the project’s life, by other producers of waste streams and in other contexts, outside the current consortium. The results will be valuable for defining the transnational strategy and action plan defined in WG3 and will be exploited and transferred to other institutions and territories through A3.4.
