The first pilot action, developed jointly to support rural agri-food third places in the SUDOE area, is a public intervention strategy. This strategy combines the expertise of various thematic departments, including agriculture, rural development, and the social economy. It will be adapted to the territorial contexts of the three countries and tested by:
Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine (N-A) in France (targeting Haute-Vienne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes, and Gironde).
JuntaEX in Extremadura, Spain (targeting Cáceres and Badajoz).
CIMBAL in Baixo Alentejo, Portugal.
We’ll establish a transnational working group that, informed by the results of our state-of-the-art analysis (A1.1 and A1.2), will define the common objectives and guidelines for this strategy. This group will also set the monitoring and evaluation indicators, which will be documented with the support of the CSIC.
Subsequently, thematic priorities will be established at a regional or local level, in consultation with stakeholders in the target territories, to address the specific needs of each context. Two types of support may be proposed:
Support for the emergence of new agri-food third places, driven by citizens, local authorities, or rural entrepreneurs.
Support for the consolidation of existing initiatives that offer innovative solutions within their territory.
