HITTS, funded by INTERREG SUDOE, publishes a guide showing how the adaptive reuse of heritage can drive sustainable development and strengthen local identity across the SUDOE area. It provides tools, examples and a seven-step methodology inspired by the New European Bauhaus.
The HITTS Project has produced “A Common Story of the SUDOE Territory”, a transnational narrative that brings together the shared values, landscapes and memories of the region. Based on fieldwork and local testimonies, the document identifies common elements such as the role of water, agricultural traditions, cultural landscapes and community life.
It serves as a strategic tool to strengthen SUDOE’s identity, promote sustainable tourism and provide a cohesive vision of the territory, while highlighting shared challenges related to heritage, social cohesion and climate adaptation.
