SUDWAMA: Common Strategy for Circular Water Management in Institutional Buildings
The common strategy developed with SUDWAMA, translated into regional action plans, aims to increase water efficiency through circular management in institutional buildings. It achieves this by aligning regulatory frameworks within the SUDOE area and promoting the integration of EU strategies into local, regional, and national policies. This strategy is intended to be:

SUSTAINABLE: Thanks to the diverse range of consortium partners and the variety of water resource typologies, treatment processes, and cultural, regulatory, and political environments studied, the strategy developed with SUDWAMA aims to be a robust and scalable response to the challenge of reducing the water footprint of institutional buildings across the entire SUDOE territory.

EFFECTIVE: By bringing together a broad panel of stakeholders to experiment and define the development conditions for new solutions favoring circular water management in institutional buildings, the strategy developed with SUDWAMA enables:

Proposing effective technical solutions at the institutional building scale that are economically viable, socially accepted, and have a positive impact on water resource availability.

Creating the conditions for continuous and transnational innovation that includes users, benefiting the reduction of buildings’ water footprint.

PRAGMATIC: The developed strategy will be common to all partners, with the action plan broken down by territory.

DRIVING FORCE: The strategy developed with SUDWAMA opens up political, economic, technical, and social perspectives in favor of the generalization of circular water management solutions, benefiting the health of territorial metabolisms within the SUDOE area.
