The Solabria Renovables headquarters in Igollo de Camargo hosted a meeting as part of the Interreg ResilientES Project (Sudoe Programme), an event aimed at gaining first-hand insight into the experience and initiatives developed by this Cantabrian renewable energy co-operative.

During the meeting, Javier Hernández, technical director of the Association of Municipalities, and Santiago Saro, local development officer, presented the ResilientES Project, its objectives and the various activities currently being carried out as part of the project.

Representing Solabria Renovables were Enrique García, treasurer; José Luis García, board member; and Jorge Saiz, technical officer, who shared the cooperative’s experience and activities.

Solabria Renovables was founded in 2013 as Cantabria’s first renewable energy co-operative, with the aim of contributing to the transformation of the current energy model towards a more democratic, social, decentralised and sustainable system.

Meetings of this kind help to generate knowledge, share experiences and strengthen collaboration between organisations committed to sustainability, the social economy and the development of more resilient regions.
