Portuguese partner Águas do Tejo Atlântico presented the European project at two international water-sector events focused on innovation and sustainable water resource management.
The European project SOLLAGUA was represented at two water-sector events held in October: the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition 2026 in Glasgow (Scotland), and Caminho da Inovação 2026 in Lisbon (Portugal). At both events, Portuguese project partner Águas do Tejo Atlântico introduced the initiative and shared updates on its progress.
World Water Congress
In Glasgow, Águas do Tejo Atlântico presented SOLLAGUA during technical session TS 2.17 – Nature-Based Solutions for Wastewater Quality Control, which focused on the role of nature-based solutions (NBS) in controlling wastewater quality. The session’s theme is directly aligned with the project’s objectives: making better use of water resources and promoting sustainable alternatives for water treatment and reuse.
Organised by the International Water Association (IWA), the World Water Congress held its 15th edition under the theme Water action – the path to resilience and prosperity.
According to the organiser’s official report, the congress and its exhibition recorded more than 8,500 participations by delegates, exhibitors and visitors. The programme featured more than 100 technical sessions and 60 workshops, while the exhibition showcased around 350 water-sector brands.

Caminho da Inovação
In Lisbon, Águas do Tejo Atlântico also shared SOLLAGUA’s progress at the 10th edition of Caminho da Inovação 2026, which brought together more than 600 participants, around 15 speakers and 30 exhibitors. The event encouraged the exchange of knowledge and innovative solutions to address challenges facing the water sector, with particular emphasis on climate change adaptation, digital transformation and water resilience.
SOLLAGUA enters its final phase
The project’s presence at both events came as SOLLAGUA approached the end of its implementation period in December 2026. Over the remaining months, it will carry out activities to share the knowledge gained and support the transfer of its results.
Planned activities include technical visits to its three demonstration sites, located in Cheles (Badajoz, Spain), Zambujeira (Beja, Portugal) and Caumont (Occitanie, France), as well as the launch of SOLLAGUA Nexus, a platform for matchmaking and networking.
