Can reclaimed water, and all the infrastructure surrounding this resource, be viewed through an artistic lens?

The answer is yes.

During the 2nd REUSE-EuroMed International Congress, we organised the “Catálogos de auga” exhibition by art photographer Ariadna Silva Fernández, curated by Iker Falcón, a student on the Master’s Degree in Cultural Services at the Facultade de Humanidades of USC and an IVY volunteer in our project.

As Iker explained: “This is a photography exhibition that acts as a bridge between science and culture, two fields that, at first glance, may seem far apart. Cultural management makes it possible to build a dialogue around reclaimed water as an essential resource. In this project, photography made the relationship between scientific knowledge and an artistic perspective visible, always from a local and environmentally committed point of view.”

All this work will be reflected in the Master’s thesis that Iker will defend in the coming weeks. A comprehensive experience in cultural management and services.

Next academic year, the ten photographs will be permanently exhibited at the EPSE on Campus Terra, in Lugo, and will be included in the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela Catalogue.

In parallel, the “Liquid Photography” competition was held, in which the winning photographs (Nos. 6 to 8) were those submitted by Miguel Campos, from Águas do Norte.
