On 18 June, the headquarters of Inescop in Elda, coordinator of the REMAIN project, will host the free hybrid event “Circular Industry in Action: Repair, Remanufacturing and Reuse of Consumer Goods”. The event, aimed at companies, innovation managers, professionals and interested citizens, will address the sustainable future of footwear, fashion and other consumer goods.

Associated with EU Green Week 2026, the event is organised within the framework of the European projects Interreg Sudoe REMAIN and FASHION FORWARD and will feature sustainability specialists who will present solutions linked to repair, remanufacturing and reuse.

Sustainability is no longer an option, but a necessity to transform industry and reduce the environmental impact of the products we use every day. In this context, the event will bring together companies, professionals and interested citizens in Elda to learn how technological innovation can help build a more circular and responsible industrial model.

The event will show how technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced sensing and collaborative robotics are helping to extend the useful life of consumer products such as footwear and fashion items, promoting their repair, reuse and remanufacturing. The aim is to reduce the carbon footprint of everyday products by giving them the possibility of a second life and, ultimately, turning waste into new opportunities for economic and environmental value.

Throughout the morning, attendees will discover how ecodesign plays a key role from the very origin of the product, helping to make it more durable, repairable and recyclable. In addition, the event will address new European regulations linked to the circular economy and their impact on both industry and consumer habits.

The event will feature international experts such as David Fitzsimons, Director of the European Remanufacturing Council, who will analyse the challenges and opportunities posed by this new paradigm for sectors such as luxury and high-quality products. The programme will also include an open round table discussion and an optional guided visit to Inescop’s facilities, where some of the technological developments driving this transition towards a more sustainable industry will be showcased.

Register to discover the cutting-edge solutions that will shape the future of industrial sustainability in the coming years.
